Language Requirements :
All students are required to possess sufficient language skills to attend lectures and to communicate in French upon arrival at EBI (students may sit examinations in English upon special request). Students from some partner institutions may be offered an intensive French language course prior to the start of the first semester. We now offer some classes in English in Semesters 5 & 6 (cf course overview)
Course Selection :
Students may choose freely among the courses in the five-year programme at EBI (see the Course Curriculum Overview and the Course Syllabus sent with this document). Acceptance into the courses selected is subject to academic prerequisites and timetable constraints.
Credit System :
EBI applies the ECTS system. The maximum number of credits that a full-time student can earn is 30 per semester.
Faculty Tutor :
All students are assigned a faculty tutor to guide and assist them during their stay at EBI.
Accommodation is available at student residence halls in close proximity to EBI. Once students have confirmed their placement at EBI, they will be sent the information needed to book their accommodation directly.
Cost of Living :
The total cost of living for students in Cergy is estimated at €800 per month.
Health Insurance Requirements :
All EU students are eligible to avail of full medical services in France on presentation of a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which provides entitlement to public health care for medical treatment. Non-EU students must provide adequate proof of health insurance coverage prior to arrival in France.
Students coming to EBI are advised to travel to Charles de Gaulle (Roissy) Airport, 48 km from Cergy. Buses run from CDG to Cergy-Préfecture every hour or half-hour and the one-way fare is approximately 2€ (http://www.metro-pole.net/hor/fiche/9518.06.html). Students arriving at a train station in Paris can best reach EBI via the RER A suburban express train to Cergy-Préfecture.
