Whatever the type of biology training followed at the EBI (Bachelor’s degree, engineering course, etc.), the pedagogy at the EBI is based on the same principles: internships throughout the course, project-based pedagogy, entrepreneurship or tutoring. Professionalization at EBI is part of a concrete approach to the world of work. Developing a sense of adaptation and a strong understanding of the professions, students are quickly put into situations to acquire working methods and a sense of teamwork.
Through its various training courses in biology, the EBI’s educational project trains accessible, cooperative and expert professionals: a particularly sought-after profile. With a solid scientific and technical foundation and a project-based pedagogy, our biology engineers acquire the three specific skills of the EBI engineer:
Engineering, Biology and Industry.
It is through lectures, practical work in our state-of-the-art laboratories, management methods, self-learning and cultural openness to the arts, creativity, languages and the issues of our time that our students build a professional project in their image
The tutoring of students by permanent teachers facilitates exchanges and the definition of the student's professional project. Choice of majors, internships, minors are essential assets of the CV of the EBI biology engineer.
From the first year, students work on different types of projects. In the 4th year of the biology engineering course, 5 major projects are carried out in teams and supervised by our researchers or working engineers. The students have access to our laboratories, but also to the Cergy technology park (LabBoite, Starlabs...)
An engineering school in biology such as EBI has to put emphasis on knowledge and personality development. Between 1 and 4 courses per semester involve cooperation and group learning. 4 coaches are associated with the school to support the students.
It may seem surprising to talk about art in an engineering school like EBI. Art brings self-confidence, the ability to cooperate and the development of emotional quotient. Student associations (dance, music...), exhibitions and shows reflect the important place of art at EBI.
Our Babel center offers 7 opening language courses with 3 possible levels: Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic. Each student can take up to 3 different languages per semester. The lessons are given by speakers in their mother tongue.
This program deals with social issues, art, science and the challenges of our time. The conferences are interactive, open to all, with no prerequisites of knowledge or level.
