CY Alliance
The EBI is part of the CY Alliance, a consortium of higher education and research establishments led by CY Cergy Paris Université. The group’s mission is to promote academic excellence and innovation in research through close cooperation between its members.
A shared project
Since 2020, our school has been part of CY Alliance, a group of higher education and research establishments in the western Ile-de-France region, united around a shared academic and scientific project.
Faced with the current and future challenges facing our world, it is essential to move towards greater interdisciplinarity, exchanges, openness and inclusion. That’s what CY Alliance is all about.
And in concrete terms? Through the Alliance, our students benefit from numerous equivalences and double degrees, as well as access to other fields of knowledge and research.
CY Alliance is also a unique opportunity for students to access cultural services,sports , as well as accompanying fablabs that are open to all members of the community.
Equivalences
As part of the partnership with the University of Cergy-Paris (CY), EBI students can obtain the Bachelor of Science, Technology and Health degree in Biology awarded by CY by validating the EBI courses over the three post-bac years. Each year validated at the EBI gives an equivalence for the same level at CY. If at least 180 ECTS are obtained, CY issues the licence.
Associated services
— Health: EBI students can access the health services of CY Université Cergy-Paris. One consultation session per semester is also organised on campus. EBI students can apply for study accommodations based on their medical conditions, which will be examined by a doctor and the school.
— International Welcome Desk: every year, the CIJ welcomes international students from CY Alliance schools, free of charge, to help them find their way around and to provide information about the various procedures involved.
Raising awareness together: the "Fête de la Science"
Every year, EBI plays an active part in the "Fête de la Science", highlighting the national theme through a range of workshops. The EBI laboratories and the Cergy-Pontoise University Library open their doors to students for a scientific immersion experience.
After my first year of preparatory studies at EBI, and thanks to parallel enrolment at CY Université, I was able to obtain an equivalence for my year with the validation of a Licence 1. This bridge enabled me to continue my studies directly into a Licence 2 at CY without losing a year. This dual experience in two very different environments has taught me a lot about myself, but also about the way I work.
