1st year of the engineering cycle
The engineering cycle lasts 3 years. Punctuated by projects, international exposure and interaction with the professional world, it aims to prepare future EBI engineers for the fulfilling careers that await them after graduation.
Objectives of semesters 5 and 6
The 1st year of the biology engineering cycle is taught in English. They complete the scientific bases and allow students to discover industrial engineering by analyzing applications and unit operations in the school’s four sectors: pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food processing and the environment. Societal and environmental issues are studied and global problems are addressed.

At EBI, the 3rd year programme is taught in English. Globalisation has impacted the business of the fields we specialise in and in order to find new consumers, the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries have had to cross trade barriers all over the world. To prepare our future engineers to work efficiently in such a context, our faculty members teach 80 % of the 3rd year course in English.
Internship abroad
The international dimension is an asset for the engineering profession. In addition to a unique human experience, it allows a mastery of foreign languages (2 languages required) and an understanding of global issues. Our students travel the world, particularly during the first year of the engineering cycle, through a compulsory internship in a company or university abroad for at least two months.
In my opinion, the EBI stands out because of its general education in biotechnology, which allows us to understand the many sectors of activity that will be available to us.
